This research by a Canadian professor of psychology might give a bit of insight into why Republicans behave in this seemingly incomprehensible way - google The Authoritarians by Bob Altemeyer.
This article is horrible. There are absolutely no facts whatsoever listed to support anything that is said in this article. It is truly an opinion piece, and doesn't do a very good job in backing that opinion up.Must be a republican. This article is great. There are indeed several facts given to support many things that are said in this article. It is obviously an opinion piece, but does a very good job at backing that opinion up.Maybe you could point out the "facts." Hmmm?
4. Not sure about God, but Jesus is pretty liberal. He's on twitter. Ask him.
I have been ranting on about the Republican determination to make the US a single-party, authoritarian, propaganda/media manipulted autocracy for years. Nice to see it all codified & put in one package.
AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH!!
Anon from Arizona... look around you... observe the actions of the Republican party, yourself.. that's all the 'facts' you need. You'd have to be an idiot not to see that what is stated in the article above is right on point.
Wherever there's a Tea party, you're bound to find Kool-Aid.
A fine article. Too bad it won't make much of a difference. Looks like the country will go over a cliff in November because we now live in an era in which facts mean absolutely nothing.
It really didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.
This is pretty good, and I wholeheartedly agree with all of it, but the article started out saying it was going to list "10 ways Republicans lie" and even before it was halfway done, it wasn't listing ways Republicans lie, it was just listing ways Republicans are bad. Which is greatN Republicans are downright horrible, but please John Sammon, stick to your premise and give us a good article with insight and analysis. Part of making an airtight logical argument is being able to stick relentlessly to the theme, not going off on tangents.I completely agree. When I read the title, I, too, was hoping for some airtight facts and specific events. Although I was amused and do agree with the story- I was looking for more than finger-pointing.
